3歳よりピアノを学び、 12歳でフルートを始める。獨協大学（フランス語学専攻）在学中、ヴォーカリストとしてのキャリアをスタートし、アンディ・オストワルド（book/CD シリーズ、Piano By Ear の著者）にインプロヴィゼーション（即興法）、ディーバ・グレイ（シックのオリジナルメンバー、セリーヌ・ディオン、R. ケリー、エルトン・ジョンなどと共演）にヴォーカルコーチを師事。
これまでに、ラファエル・アルカラ（マンハッタン・トランスファーと共演）、作詞家のクリス・モズデル（サラ・ブライトマン、エリック・クラプトン、坂本龍一らに作品を提供）などと仕事を共にする。母国語である日本語から掛け離れた流暢なフランス語、英語を話し、ジャンルを超えて、主にジャズ、ラテン、ポピュラー、ゴスペルを英語、フランス語、スペイン語で歌う。
現在、東京在住。2007年にはハワイにてツアーを行い、成功をおさめる。

Rié FURUSE

At the early age of three Rié took up the piano and at twelve added the flute to her musical repertoire. She studied piano improvisation with Andy Ostwald (the author of the book/CD series, Piano By Ear) and vocal with the renowned vocalist Diva Gray (a former member of Chic and singer who has recorded with such luminaries as R. Kelly, Celine Dion, John Lennon and Elton John).
She worked with the pianist Rafael Alcala (known for his work with Manhattan Transfer) and the famed lyricist Chris Mosdell (Sarah Brightman, Eric Clapton).

Rié is trilingual, speaking excellent French and English apart from her native Japanese. Although she is an accomplished singer in most genre, her preference is jazz, latin, pops and gospel that she sings in English, French and Spanish.

Rié is based in Tokyo and is getting well established on the world stage.
In 2007 she had a successful tour in Hawaii.
