Mercedes-Benz
Fashion Week TOKYO
Sneak into 2014-15 A/W!
I attended the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2014-15 A/W, which was held for six days until March 22nd at Shibuya Hikarie, and saw the shows of two brands.
It's finally getting warmer and we can feel spring in the air, but the fashion shows are already featuring this year's fall and winter styles.
This show was not an event like Tokyo Girls Collection where you can buy and enjoy right away, but a show for those who will be creating trends for the next six months or more, so the people who actually came to see it were mainly buyers, press, and related parties. Each show had a different atmosphere and age group, but what struck me first was the high level of aesthetic sense of the guests.
Well, this time I managed to sneak into Tokyo Fashion Week, which is normally off-limits to the public, and I felt that a fashion show is "a way of completing the art of clothes, which have been crafted down to the smallest detail, by having models wear them, and of conveying the worldview of the designer who created them in a total way, including the space and music."
I strongly felt that not only movies and theater, but fashion is also a culture!
Esumi's work will be on display at the Owada Cultural Fashion Incubation Center in Sakuragaoka from March 24th (Mon) to 30th (Sun). Why not come and see it for yourself?

*The temperature that Amatsu Yuu chose for this theme, as mentioned in the interview, is "11323.4°F." It is the color temperature that corresponds to the natural light of a cloudy day. Inspired by the unstable color of the sky between sunny and rainy days, she created a work that expresses the changing colors, temperature, and humidity in between.
