アップリンクでは、ホーミーの故郷「チャンドマニ村」を目指す二人の青年が、モンゴル人である自分自身と向きあう旅を描いた「チャンドマニ 〜モンゴル ホーミーの源流へ〜」（2009年、亀井岳監督）が公開されている。ホーミーとは、アルタイ山脈周辺民族の間に伝わる喉歌と呼ばれる歌唱法で、喉の筋肉を極度に緊張させ、しぼりだすように発声するもの。2006 年に初めてホーミーを生で聴き、チャンドマニ村へと向かったという亀井監督。「遊牧民の生活と美しい自然の中で育まれてきた本来のホーミーを、今、映像に刻み付けておかなければならない」と決意し、1年半後に撮影をスタートさせた。風の中に溶けこんでいくようなホーミー、少数民族による昔ながらの芸能など、心に響く音の数々が散りばめられている同作は、遊牧民による本来の「ホーミー（喉歌）」が失われつつあり、一方で、観光客相手にお金が稼げるホーミーを習う人が増えているというモンゴルの現状を伝えるドキュメンタリーでもある。
